Search the Britannica Education encyclopaedia on Hwb

Britannica Education is a safe online encyclopaedia with age-appropriate resources for learners. You can search the encyclopaedia via Hwb resources.

1. Log in to Hwb.
2. Click on the Resources tile.
3. Type a search term into the search bar (for example ‘Easter’) and click on the magnifying glass icon to search.
4. You can then choose to search ‘All Hwb resources’, ‘Hwb Community’, ‘Britannica School’ , ‘Britannica Image Quest’ or’ People’s collection Wales’.
5. Click on the Britannica School tile.
6. At the top of the results list there is an option to Filter resources. You can filter by Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced, depending on the required reading level.
7. Click on the relevant search result, which will open the article in a new tab in your browser.

Access the Britannica Education homepage

• Navigate to a resource in Britannica Education from Hwb. 
• Click on the Britannica School icon in the top left corner of the page.
• You can now get the options for each  ability level by clicking on Foundation, Intermediate or Advanced.
