Adobe Express for Education
How to access and use Adobe Express for creative content such as graphics, photos, and videos.
Overview
Adobe Express for Education makes it fast and easy to turn ideas into beautiful graphics, web stories, and video presentations. It is available to all logged in users as part of the Hwb Additional Services.
Adobe Express enables learners to use and develop their creative skills. Adobe Express for Education contains all the premium features of Adobe Express such as access to the library of Adobe Fonts and premium templates. The free image search has safe search enabled. There are thousands of templates and some good generative AI features.
Accessing Adobe Express for Education
- Login to Hwb.
- Click the Adobe Express tile.
You can also log in directly on the Adobe Express webpage with your Hwb username and password.
Using Adobe Express
Adobe Express lets you turn your text and photos into great-looking, attention-grabbing graphics such as posters, cover pages, certificates, or revision cards. The Adobe Express Learn page offers a tour of the programme and detailed usage instructions.
Creating an Adobe Express graphic
You can add images into an Adobe Express project directly from your Google Drive. The first time you select this option, you may see a warning message saying that Adobe Express wants to access your Google account. Click the blue Allow button if you wish to import images stored in your Google Drive.
Sharing an Adobe Express graphic
There are several ways to share your graphic. You can:
- select the Download button on top of the page and select the format you wish your graphic to be downloaded as (png, jpg or pdf)
- use the Share button on top of the page and generate a URL link to your graphic using the Link button
Please note that when posting an Adobe Express creation the URL is unique and not indexed by search engines.
How learners can submit an Adobe Express graphic to a Microsoft Teams assignment
There are 2 options:
- submit the link for sharing (note that if the user updates the content and republishes then the updated version will be seen by the teacher)
- request that the learner downloads their image as a png or jpeg file and uploads this to the assignment. This option stops the learner from making any changes after submission
Collaborating on an Adobe Express graphic
To collaborate on an Adobe Express and allow another user to edit your graphic:
- select Share button on top of the page and select Invite
- type in the email addresses of those you wish to invite to collaborate
- click Invite
An email with a collaboration link is shared with the other user. They also see the projects that have been shared with them on their main Adobe Express (Shared with You tab).
Publishing and sharing Page in Adobe Express
To publish and share the page:
- select Share and Publish and share from the top of the page
- you will be asked to define your page title, category and if the author’s name and the photo credits will be shown at the bottom of the page
- click Create link
You will be given the options to copy the URL to your page or directly publish it to Google Classroom or email.
You will need to republish your page every time you make a change. The URL remains the same, but for your changes to become visible for the viewers please select Share: Publish and Share Link: Update link.
How to get an embedded link to your page
- Select Share and Publish and share from the top of the page.
- You will be asked to define your page title, category and if the author’s name and the photo credits will be shown at the bottom of the page.
- Click Create link.
- Select Embed and copy the provided embed link.
Submitting an Adobe Express page as a learner to a Microsoft Teams assignment
You have 2 options:
- Create the published URL and add this as a URL to the Team assignment. Please be aware that learners can make changes after this has been submitted.
- Publish the page and choose the PDF option. This will remove some of the look and animations of the content but will retain the images and text for assessment.

Adobe Express lets you quickly combine video clips, photos, icons, and voiceover narration to create compelling visual essays, presentations, lessons, and more.
Publishing and sharing Video in Adobe Express
Publish and share the video
- Select Share and Publish from the top of the page.
- You will be asked to define your page title, subtitle and if the author’s name will be visible with the video.
- Click Create link.
You will be given the options to copy the URL to your page or directly publish it to Google Classroom or email.

Submitting work as a learner to a Microsoft Teams assignment
You have 2 options:
- Publish the video, copy the URL and paste it into the assignment. Note the learner can update the content after submission.
- Download the video as an MP4 file from Video in Adobe Express and upload load the video for their submission.
Language settings
The default language for the Adobe Express app is determined by your browser’s default language setting. You can also change the default language for Adobe Express by following these steps:
- log into Hwb and click on the Adobe Express tile
- wait for the page to load and click on your profile (often represented by a coloured circle in the top right hand corner): Click Settings
- under Language: Choose your preferred language (for example Welsh): wait for the page to refresh
- click the cross in the top right to close the pop up. The app will then be presented with the interface in Welsh

Adobe fonts
As part of your Adobe Express for Education license you can sync Adobe fonts for use with Adobe Express.
- Login to https://fonts.adobe.com.
- If not logged in to Adobe Express Click Sign In, Enter your Hwb username: Click Continue.
- Enter your Hwb password: Click Sign In.
- Browse or search for a font type.
- View a Font family.
- Select Activate Font.
These fonts will then appear in your font selection with Adobe Express.
